Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, addressing his city with his annual State of the City Address, brought a crowd of Seattle’s finest to a deafening applause when he spoke out against The War on Drugs. Seattle has seen a rash of violence this year (seven homicides already) and McGinn did not shy away from addressing the subject–or offering a solution that would both limit crime and please marijuana activists far and wide.
The aptly named Benjamin Crook and the now former general manager of a Dominos pizza chain faces felony charges for possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, delivering marijuana, and maintaining a dwelling for marijuana after an investigation revealed Crook was flinging some extra cheesy bread on the side.
